Time Sync over
Ethernet
The T200 series time synchronisation switch is one of
our specialities, featuring an incorporated time server in
the Ethernet switch. Accuracy down to 1 microsecond can be
obtained in real-time automation projects. Both NTP/SNTP
(RFC1305/RFC2030) and and IEEE1588 protocol are supported
(IEEE1588 Grand Master, Transparency).
A GPS receiver can be connected for absolute time
reference.
|

Time synchronisation is done by NTP/SNTP or 1588 protocols,
creating real-time, deterministic Ethernet networks |
Redundant Ring Networks with
R/T200 switches
The R/T200-series managed industrial switches use FRNT
(Fast Re-configuring Network Topology) an OnTime patent
proven technique for fast network re-configuration in case
of topology changes in a network ring (FRNT0 protocol).
Re-configuration time is only 30 milliseconds. Several
redundant rings of industrial ethernet switches can be connected with redundant bridges
creating full link redundancy throughout the whole
industrial application (FRNT1 protocol). |

Rings can be redundantly bridged, recovery time only
30 milliseconds. Convenient in traffic control and railway
applications |
Redundant Ring Networks with Lynx
switches
The Lynx 3xx and Lynx 4xx series also support
the FRNT0 protocol, but with an improved recovery time of
20 ms in case of a topology change. Both R/T200 and Lynx
3xx/4xx switches can be combined in an FRNT0 network ring. |

Dec 2005
The new Lynx Gigabit switches
are here!! Three software levels and a lot of approvals for
this top-of-the-line switch series.
· Lynx 1100 with
SNMP
· Lynx 1300 with
FRNT v0 - redundant ring * SNMP
* RSTP
· Lynx 1400 with
FRNT v0 - redundant ring * SNMP
* IGMP snooping * VLAN RSTP
The switches will have one or
two gigabit ports of either TX or FX type (1000BASE).
Combining one FX and one TX GigE is also possible. The Lynx
switches will be
approved for industrial, marine, railway, substation
automation and defense use in
the same way as Lynx 100/300/400.

Switches can also work with
Spanning Tree Protocol and Rapid Spanning Tree. IGMP snooping,
SNMP and port based VLAN is delivered as standard, user
configurable features. Network management is made easy by the free
OnTime IPConfig tool.
Harsh
environment
High MTBF numbers makes OnTime managed switches a clear choice in
harsh industrial environment. Automation systems for manufacturing,
power plants, substation automation, traffic control, mining,
defence, maritime and railway will benefit from the intelligent
communication solutions offered in these industrial ethernet switches.
Multiple fiber options
The multiple fiber options - up to 8 fiber ports per switch (you
can save a fiber converter or two) you can mix any kind of fiber
types in switches singlemode or multimode, different connectors
like SC, ST, MTRJ and LC and distances from 2 km to 85 km
Unmanaged - Managed
The new Lynx industrial Ethernet switch represents a price
effective alternative in open automation systems. The series
starts with the L100 series unmanaged switches and reaches up
through L300 with single ring redundancy to full management in the
L400.
Time
synchronization support:
Real time Ethernet
FRNT- Redundant Ring topologies
IGMP snooping:
SNMP
DHCP
IP gateway support
True industrial specification
High MTBF numbers
35 mm DIN rail, 19 inch rack or wall mounting options |
The rugged Lynx series features both unmanaged and managed
industrial Ethernet switches |
Fiber Optic Systems
The 200 series of switches from OnTime can be equipped with up to
8 fiber ports per unit, multi- or single mode. The utilization of
fiber optic technology for factory networking and process control
has become increasingly popular in the last few decades. A basic
fiber optic system using an optical transceiver circuit and fiber
optic media offer a wide array of benefits not offered by
traditional copper conductors. OnTime switches with their multiple
fiber options provides full fiber features in Ethernet
communication.
